October 30, 2006: Phoola found guilty under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS). This act carries a punishment of 10 to 20 years imprisonment. Unfortunately, a few days later, he was acquitted in one of the three murder cases against him. He will continue to remain in jail, though the other eight aides will be released.
